  19. San Francisco-May 10, 1994-GS Corporation announced today that it

  21. will begin mass distribution of the Solutions Suite CD-ROM at
  22.  
  23. NEXTSTEP Expo, June 20-23.  The Solutions Suite CD-ROM is an
  24.  
  25. interactive magazine that presents information from NeXT Computer,
  26.  
  27. Inc. and product offerings from Canon, HP, Sun, GS Corp. and
  28.  
  29. NEXTSTEP third-party vendors to provide robust desktop
  30.  
  31. enterprise-computing solutions to Fortune 1000 corporate and
  32.  
  33. government customers.  Copies of the Solutions Suite CD-ROM will
  34.  
  35. be available at NEXTSTEP Expo, held at Moscone Center in San
  36.  
  37. Francisco.

  39. In seeking to define a cutting-edge marketing strategy as
  40.  
  41. innovative as NEXTSTEP's object-oriented frameworks, Solutions
  42.  
  43. Suite was designed so that "the literature is the demo is the
  44.  
  45. product is the distribution channel," says Lauren Flanegan, GS
  46.  
  47. president and co-founder.

  65. interactive slide show that showcases the interoperability of

  69. eXTRASCAN, eXTRAPRINT, eXTRASLIDE, eXTRASET and eXTRACOLOR; Altsys
  70.  
  71. Virtuoso, Anderson Financial Systems' WriteUp; Athena Design's
  72.  
  73. Mesa spreadsheet; RDR's @Image; and Conextions' 3270 Interface
  74.  
  75. Builder, 3270Vision, 3270Toolkit, 5250Vision, 5250 Palette,
  76.  
  77. 5250Toolkit and CoaxAccess-PC.  GS Corp.'s Collaggi Palette
  78.  
  79. provides the unifying interface and aids interoperability among

  81. the applications. Products are demonstrated in sessions built with

  83. Otherwise's WatchMe.  Disabled product versions are contained on
  84.  
  85. Collaggi Palette, allowing users to "try before they buy".

  87. Each edition will look at enterprise re-engineering in industries

  89. making the transition from mainframes to client/server solutions

  91. based on NEXTSTEP. These solutions include a combination of

  93. custom, shrinkwrapped and modular software.  Users will be able to

  95. purchase, unlock and install software directly from the CD-ROM.

  97. Customers using Macintosh- and Windows-based computers can view a

  99. MacroMedia Director movie or view pages from the Solutions Suite
  100.  
  101. presentation that are stored on the CD-ROM in the cross-platform

  103. Adobe Acrobat format.

  105. After NEXTSTEP Expo, subscriptions to Solutions Suite will be

  107. available for $40 a year or $10 for individual issues. It will be
  108.  
  109. available through GS, Canon and third parties.
